Need for Speed: The Run will see players drive over three times the tarmac seen in its predecessors, developer EA Black Box has said.

“We’ve got over 300km of race track in the game this year,” executive producer Jason DeLong revealed during a video interview with IGN. “We were able to, with Frostbite [2.0], create more than three times the track than has been in any previous Need for Speed.”

In addition, The Run is the first Need for Speed title in which players will be getting out of the car, running on foot and involved in a few fist fights as they move towards New York City from San Francisco. A number of screenshots, as well as a trailer emerged from its E3 showcase earlier this month.

The game is set to launch for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii and Nintendo 3DS on November 15 in North America and November 17 across Europe.

Thanks, TVGB.
