As expected, Beenox has confirmed it is developing the video game tie-in to next year’s The Amazing Spider-Man movie.

The Activision studio unveiled the game for the first time with a trailer – strictly gameplay – at the New York Comic-Con over the weekend. No better place, really.

Unlike its previous Spidey titles Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time, Beenox will allow players to explore an open-world New York City with a masked Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man.

No word on a release date just yet, but expect it to hit around the same time as the film itself – July 3, 2012. Watch the trailer below.
