According to a source of ThisIsXbox, the new Infinity Ward team are working on a prequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which will see Modern Warfare 2 character Ghost in the spotlight.

The game’s storyline will apparently lead up to the events of the original Modern Warfare, which released back in 2007. It’s also reported that the IW 4.0 engine will be used, and that it will not be released under the title of Modern Warfare 3.

After a six-part comic book series revolving around the character, titled Modern Warfare 2: Ghost, was launched on the release date of Modern Warfare 2, speculation of a spin-off game featuring Ghost as its main character emerged.

So, do we have another positive rumour?
