Activision Publishing EVP David Stohl has revealed that the firm currently has more than 500 personnel working on the Call of Duty series.
“It takes a village in this case,” he said when speaking to VentureBeat at last weekend’s Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles, referring to the seven different studios working on the shooter franchise.
That of course includes Modern Warfare 3 developers Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, Black Ops developer Treyarch and DLC aider Raven Software. Florida studio n-Space has also been developing the Call of Duty titles on Nintendo DS for several years, and will continue to do so with Modern Warfare 3.
On top of that Beachhead Studios is working on the Call of Duty Elite online platform, whilst Demonware works on the network service for each title.
One can only imagine how much work is going into this FPS powerhouse of a franchise.
