I Am Alive, the mind-bogglingly-awesome survival title announced back at E3 2008 is confirmed to be releasing this year, but not as we expected.

Instead of releasing for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii as first announced, the game will now launch as a downloadable title across the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live according to Ubisoft’s Jade Raymond.

A disappointing move from Ubisoft in our eyes, but according to Raymond the publisher lacks faith in the project. Hopefully some positive sales will still emerge from a downloadable release.
