During its latest investors call held a little earlier, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed III will release on October 30, 2012.

"We will push the title a lot because it's a fantastic product that the team has been working for three years," said the publisher’s CEO, Yves Guillemot. "What we have seen is just fabulous."

Excitingly, a new protagonist is set to emerge with this one after the story of Ezio de Auditore came to an end in last year’s instalment, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. That’s the only real information we have on it so far, though location and scenario rumours for this year’s release have been running riot for a few months now.

Ubisoft Montreal production manager Aymar Azaïzia has promised more news on the game "soon," whilst noting Assassin’s Creed III as the series’ "biggest launch ever" on Twitter.
