Ubisoft has today officially announced its Wii U-exclusive first-person shooter as Killer Freaks from Outer Space.
In development Ubisoft Montpellier, the game is set to launch in conjunction with the Wii U – unveiled for the first time by Nintendo earlier this week. As one of earth’s last survivors after an invasion of, well, Killer Freaks from Outer Space players must “stalk” the enemy across the globe in order to discover a new ruler.
“When we realized the potential of what Nintendo was offering by creating a tactile controller, we were off and running immediately,” said Xavier Poix, managing director of Ubisoft’s France studios.
“Having that extra screen in the hand of the player allows us boundless innovation that ultimately gives the player a more beautiful game, a faster game interface, a personalized game experience, and so much more.”
Added Ubi CEO Yves Guillemot: “When Nintendo launches a new console, it’s always a big milestone for the industry and a great opportunity for creativity. Killer Freaks will make the most of all the fantastic capabilities of the Wii U and provide hardcore players with a gaming experience like no other they have seen or played before.”
Unfortunately we don’t have a launch date for the Wii U, meaning we don’t have a release date for Killer Freaks from Outer Space. What we do have though, is a screenshot (above) and a teaser trailer (below).
