Nintendo is looking to take a “new approach” when it comes to home consoles, company President Satoru Iwata has claimed.
His comments emerge shortly after the platform giant announced it will show off its new hardware, codenamed Project Cafe, at the Los Angeles based E3 conference in June, and reiterate the recent 3D-doubting comments of Nintendo EAD development head Hideki Konno.
“We would like to propose a new approach to home video game consoles,” said Iwata when speaking to Bloomberg. “It’s difficult to make 3-D images a key feature, because 3-D televisions haven’t obtained wide acceptance yet.”
So no 3D, it seems. We will however find out what Nintendo has in store for gamers with Project Cafe sometime during E3, which takes place June 7-9.
