Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed Nintendo aims to bring an HD Zelda title to Wii U following an exciting tech demo at E3 earlier this month.

The franchise creator offered a few details to Kotaku during an interview at the Los Angeles-based event, but gave no clue as to whether such a game is in full development.

"This is an HD system, our first HD system, and we want to create a real HD Zelda game for it," he revealed. "You will see a lot of these in-depth and deep experiences in terms of visual style. You will also see some play styles that are fun and interesting because of the play structure."

Miyamoto’s team at Nintendo is currently hard at work on this year’s big Wii game for the holiday season, Zelda: Skyward Sword.
