Nintendo Wii may not generate as much hype and excitement as it once did, but it’s doing the job for Ubisoft.

"Today, the Wii still is 45 percent of our business," said the firm’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, during an interview with Gamasutra. "Just Dance, all those casual games, are selling extremely well.”

With that the case, Guillemot says the company is confident that the Wii’s successor, Wii U, will be successful.

"We are big believers in the Wii U, on two subjects. One is for high-end games, where we'll be able to do a game for the Wii U, but also for other [high-definition] machines, but also with specific use of [Wii U's] tablet. Two, is we like the Wii U for all the [potential of] casual games."

We’re still waiting for a launch date when it comes to the Wii U, though we do know it’ll be out sometime next year. Ubisoft is known to be developing two exclusive IPs for the system, one being first-person shooter Killer Freaks from Outer Space.
