Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that, since its launch on October 18, Batman: Arkham City has shipped more than 4.6 million units worldwide.

The publisher says that week one sales of the Rocksteady title are double that of predecessor Batman: Arkham Asylum – around two million copies altogether, according to the L.A. Times.

"The true test for any game is what the players think and we have been thrilled by their reaction to Batman: Arkham City,” said Rocksteady game director Sefton Hill. “The team at Rocksteady put every ounce of effort into making the best Batman experience we possibly could, so we are overwhelmed by the incredible feedback from the community.”

Arkham City is available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 now. A PC version is set to launch next month, whilst a Wii U version is also in development. It’s superb and should not be missed.
