DICE has just unveiled the first in-game footage of Battlefield 3, and to say we’re excited about the game would be an understatement.
It’s a short trailer yes, but it’s intense, and the footage shown is just breathtaking. Check it below.
The Swedish developer has also announced that those who pre-order the Battlefield 3 Limited Edition will receive the Back to Karkand DLC pack, which consists of four maps featured in the games predecessor, Battlefield 2, with “boldly re-imagined with Frostbite 2 physics, destruction and visuals.”
Classic weapons and vehicles featured in Battlefield 2 will also be included in the Limited Edition, along with new rewards, achievements and Trophies.
“We are gearing up for a fight and we’re here to win,” said Karl Magnus Troedsson, General Manager at DICE. “Where other shooters are treading water Battlefield 3 innovates. Frostbite 2 is a game-changer for shooter fans. We call it a next-generation engine for current-generation platforms.”
Executive producer Patrick Bach added his comments: “We wanted to create the most immersive and emotionally powerful Battlefield game ever and we needed new technology to deliver on our vision. Battlefield 3 preserves the franchise’s signature sandbox style and even brings back classic fan favourites like jets, going prone and 64-player multiplayer on PC.”
Relish a further unveiling at GDC in San Francisco at the end of the month. The game will be available for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this fall - now enjoy.
